No Projector ... No Problem

With so many smartphone choices, which one do you choose? This is the question that many of us face when in the market for a new phone. Samsung has added a feature to help make that decision easier.

In late February, Samsung announced they would be introducing their re-engineered Android powered smartphone, the Galaxy Beam. What makes this phone so different? A newly improved design with and an integrated projector.

Although projectors in phones are not entirely new to the phone market, the Galaxy Beam is significantly thinner (12.5mm) and has higher projection brightness (15 lumens) when compared to its competitors. Other specifications include a dual core 1GHz processor (U8500 chipset), a 4" WVGA LCD screen, WiFi, 8GB of storage (with additional memory slot), 3 hours of video playback, and a projection resolution of 640x360.

While the core components of this phone may not be on the bleeding edge of new technology, the ability to project anything from your phone may be enough to entice certain consumers. In addition to the phone, accessories such as a dock and speakers are speculated for release. At this time, Samsung has not yet decided on a price and is unsure if the product will make it's way to United States.

Personally, I love the idea of being able to project from my phone. As I was investigating information on the Galaxy Beam, ideas kept racing through my head as to how I would use it. My best ideas were photo slide shows at family gatherings or using it with Netflix while camping. What are some creative ideas you can think of? Feedback is always welcome.

  1. Good, clean post. I like how you used both an image and a video, evenly spaced so they balance out the text. Next time incorporate a list of related articles (usually blog posts) at the bottom of the post.
